Did you ever take the time to step outside early in the morning and simply feel the cool breeze resting against your face? Not while walking to the car. Not while thinking about your next appointment. Just standing there, letting that gentle breeze remind you that God woke the world up one more time.
Did you ever take the time to watch the birds? They don't seem worried about tomorrow. They glide across the sky without hurry, flying from one tree to another as if they know exactly where they belong. They sing songs before most of us have had our first cup of coffee. They don't ask for applause. They simply live the life God gave them.
Did you ever take the time to watch the tops of the trees? Watch how they sway together as the wind gently moves through them. Hundreds of branches dancing in perfect rhythm, almost as though Heaven itself were directing an orchestra. If you stare long enough, the movement becomes peaceful, calming, almost hypnotic. It's one of God's quietest concerts, and it never charges admission.
Did you ever take the time to look into the night sky? To stand in complete silence and gaze at the millions of stars scattered across the heavens? To catch the brief streak of a falling star and realize that for just a second, you witnessed something many people never even notice because their eyes were fixed on a screen instead of the sky.
Did you ever take the time to stand in the rain? Not to run from it, but to welcome it. To feel each drop land on your face, washing away, if only for a moment, the worries you've been carrying. The same rain that waters the fields, fills the rivers, and gives life to everything around us can also remind us that sometimes the greatest blessings come from above.
Did you ever take the time to walk along the edge of the ocean? To hear the thunder of the waves crashing against the shore? To feel the sand beneath your feet and realize how incredibly small we really are compared to the power of God's creation? The ocean has been singing its song since long before we arrived, and it will continue long after we are gone.
Did you ever take the time to watch a sunrise? To see darkness quietly surrender to light? Every sunrise is another promise from God that yesterday is over and today is a brand-new beginning. No matter how difficult life became, the sun still rises because God said it would.
Did you ever take the time to sit beside a crackling campfire, listening to the wood pop and crack as the flames danced into the evening sky? There is something about a simple fire that slows a restless heart and reminds us that peace doesn't have to be complicated.
Did you ever take the time to hug your husband or wife just a little longer? To tell your children you love them before they leave the house? To call an old friend simply because they crossed your mind? To thank your parents while you still have the chance?
Did you ever take the time to help someone who couldn't repay you? To offer a smile to a stranger? To hold a door open? To shake someone's hand and truly mean it when you asked, "How are you today?"
Did you ever take the time to bow your head and simply say, "Thank You, Lord." Not because life is perfect. Not because every prayer has been answered. Not because every road has been easy. But because, despite it all, you are still here. You are breathing. You are living. You have another chance.
The greatest tragedy in life isn't that we don't receive enough blessings. The greatest tragedy is that we become so busy collecting things that we stop noticing the gifts that have been freely placed before us every single day. The breeze. The birds. The trees. The rain. The stars. The ocean. The sunrise. The people we love. Every one of them is a reminder that God has been quietly speaking to us all along. We were simply too busy to listen. One day our schedules will end. The meetings won't matter. The deadlines will disappear. The money will stay behind. The things we thought were so important will no longer matter at all. But the moments we spent loving, believing, appreciating, forgiving, laughing, praying, and simply standing in awe of God's creation... Those moments will remain forever.
So today, before life races past you one more time, ask yourself one simple question. Did you ever take the time? If the answer is no... Then today is a wonderful day to begin. Take the time to breathe. Take the time to notice. Take the time to love. Take the time to forgive. Take the time to thank the Lord for every blessing, both big and small. Because when all is said and done, perhaps the greatest gift God ever gave us... ...was the time to enjoy the gifts He had already given. So don't let another day slip away. Take the time. Because one day, you'll wish you had.
